shop small: the best online vintage stores

One of my favorite things about styling is thrifting. I enjoy pulling and curating vintage pieces for shoots and projects. Although big department stores (like Macy’s) give me a headache, I can spend hours scuffling through packed racks of clothes at thrift stores. I find the whole process therapeutic, like an adventure or treasure hunt-excited to discover all the hidden gems. And yes there are plenty of gems: from silk blouses to leather handbags to designer shoes to glitzy jewelry. You’ll find unique pieces that are of beautiful quality and can be styled or worn in different ways - what a deal. The best thing about thrifting, is that you are minimally contributing (or not at all to fashion’s carbon footprint by shopping at small, second hand shops.

With the recent news of COVID-9 and restaurants, retailers, and entertainment closing physical spaces, I’ve been brainstorming ways to support vulnerable communities, low-income families, and small businesses from the comfort of my home. One way to help small businesses is by shopping online and/or purchasing a gift card to use later. With that, here are my favorite small vintage retailers online:
